Cities are the solution
to a global problem.
Africa's cities are growing faster than anywhere on earth, and their waste is growing with them; most of it buried or burned. At the same time, the industries building those cities are under real pressure to cut both carbon and cost.
Kubik has built a circular economy model that solves both.

Since 2024, our partnership with the Municipality of Harar has transformed the city into one of the cleanest and most equitable waste management systems in Ethiopia.
A circular landfill in the making.
Through a multi-year partnership, we are transforming Dire Dawa’s landfill into a circular engine for producing low-carbon alternatives for the cement industry.

Kidus Asfaw
Founder & CEOKidus is a problem-solver at heart. Named one of TIME's 100 Most Influential Climate Leaders, he started Kubik with a mission to build dignity through clean and affordable living for all. Before Kubik, Kidus worked at Google, the World Bank, UNICEF and Accenture, and holds an MPA from Princeton and a degree in biomedical engineering from Duke.
